Biography

Becky joined Nix Patterson in 2022 and is a member of the firm’s complex litigation and mass torts litigation teams. Before that, Becky was an Assistant District Attorney in Denton County, Texas, where she thrived in the courtroom and handled countless hearings, including bench and jury trials, with great success. In that capacity, she effectively prosecuted cases from inception until final adjudication, including screening incoming cases, working closely with law enforcement and victims, negotiating plea agreements with defense attorneys, and managing the court docket.

Becky graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law where she was a member of three national moot court competition teams, winning a national championship at the Federal Bar Association Moot Court Competition in 2019. Her exceptional written and oral advocacy led to her induction into the national Order of Barristers. Becky was also honored to receive the David Swank Professionalism Award for aiding the school in transitioning its entire 1L moot court competition online at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before attending law school, Becky pursued a career as a high-school English teacher, which allowed her to share her passion of working with young members of the community. Becky continues to share her knowledge with students at OU Law, now serving as an alumni coach to both moot court and mock trial competition teams.
