Biography
Katherine Beran is an associate in the firm’s commercial litigation group and has a diverse background representing individuals and organizations in a wide range of litigation matters, including cases involving breaches of contract, breaches of fiduciary duty, trade secrets violations, fraud, qui tam and False Claims Act violations, anti-kickback violations, employment disputes, Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) disputes, consumer protection violations, family law disputes, and oil and gas disputes.
Katherine is admitted to practice in Texas state and federal courts and is admitted to practice in the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She regularly appears in both state and federal courts forums around the country.
Katherine earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism, with highest honors, from The University of Texas at Austin. She worked as a journalist in Austin, Texas before attending law school at The University of Texas at Austin. Katherine earned her law degree in 2015, graduating with honors. During law school, Katherine interned for Judge Tom Price on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, worked as a student attorney for The University of Texas School of Law’s Actual Innocence Clinic, and worked for legal non-profit organizations. She also served as an Associate Editor on the Review of Litigation.
