NP represented Ronald S. Karpf on appeal of the final decision of the PTAB\u2019s rejection of all pending claims of his patent application. Karpf\u2019s application covered an electronic medical records system that doctors could use to access records, enter diagnoses, and provide treatment instructions. The PTAB relied on a prior patent in finding that all elements of Karpf\u2019s application were anticipated. After argument by NP, the Federal Circuit vacated the PTAB\u2019s decision and found that the PTAB\u2019s analysis lacked substantial evidence.<\/p>\n

Now, Karpf will be able to continue his prosecution of his patent application before the PTAB.<\/p>\n
