Austin Tighe: The Death of Class Actions Has Been Greatly Exaggerated

Austin Tighe spoke at the Texas Trial Lawyers Annual Convention in San Antonio on class actions. His presentation focused on how class actions, despite what the Chamber of Commerce and Texans for Lawsuit Reform would have you belief, are alive and well. Four of the last five class action decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court have been in favor of plaintiffs and the class, class action filings are up over 120% in the last six years, with consumer class action settlements exceeding $2.8 billion in 2015, compared to $1.7 billion in 2010.
