As the son of a lawyer and a public-school teacher, Ryan Hering grew up in McGregor, Texas, with a deep respect for service and advocacy. He has wanted to be a lawyer for as long as he can remember, and today he applies those same values as an associate at Nix Patterson, representing clients with preparation and persistence.
Before joining the firm, Ryan served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable Alan D. Albright of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, where he worked on one of the busiest and most complex civil trial dockets in the country.
Ryan earned his J.D. from Baylor Law School, graduating summa cum laude. During law school, he was recognized as the top performer in eleven different classes. He also served as Senior Executive Editor of the Baylor Law Review and competed on multiple national advocacy teams. Ryan was part of the Top Oral Advocacy Team at the Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition, a regional finalist at the American Association for Justice Mock Trial Competition, and the recipient of the Steve Dillard Award for Highest Performer in Baylor’s Practice Court program.
Before law school, Ryan graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University with a B.B.A. in Business Honors and Finance.
