NP Defeats Sally Beauty’s Motion for Summary Judgment

Nix Patterson serves as counsel in this action for plaintiff Intellectual Ventures versus Sally Beauty in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Intellectual Ventures alleges that Sally Beauty infringes a variety of patents through the use of its web-based applications. Sally Beauty sought to invalidate one of the patents by alleging that the limitation “private transactional data” was indefinite. Judge Gilstrap rejected Sally Beauty’s contentions—“private transactional data” was understandable to a person of ordinary skill in the art.
